SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Kaitlin Groothuyzen (SR/Fresno, CA) scored with 33 seconds left in the first overtime frame to lift seventh-seeded Fresno Pacific to an 8-7 overtime win over sixth-seeded California Baptist in game four of the 2017 Golden Coast Conference Women's Championships on Saturday morning.

The Sunbirds had a pair of three-goal leads, including a 7-4 advantage with 5:12 to play in regular only to see the Lancers mount a massive comeback. CBU scored two goals in the final 35 seconds to send the game to extra frames.

Emily Knowles (JR/Long Beach, CA) gave FPU that 7-4 lead with 5:12 to play. It looked to be advantage Sunbirds, but Valerie Spezzaferri (SR/Lake Forest, CA) cut the lead to 7-5 with 1:51 to play. Then with 35 seconds to go, she scored again to make it 7-6. The Lancers got the ball back and with six seconds left, Annie Eubanks (JR/Houston, TX) would send the game to overtime.

After Groothuyzen scored to go-ahead goal, CBU had a 6-on-5 chance in the final minute of the second overtime but could not capitalize.

The Sunbirds advance to the fifth place game to face Santa Clara on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Every game will feature a live broadcast and live stats from THE FOSH. All links can be found at TOURNAMENT CENTRAL on GCCWaterPolo.com.
